The airline’s fleet mostly consists of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. The fleet consists of Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Boeing 777, Airbus A350-1000, Airbus A350-900, Airbus A380 and Airbus A320. 

The airline operates a young fleet with an average aircraft age of 5 years. In 2006, the airline introduced a new livery containing an Oryx painted in the airline’s traditional colours burgundy and grey. An Oryx, the national animal of Qatar is also its logo. 

The various aircraft are used on short, medium, long and very long international routes. All the aircraft are configured to provide travel classes like Economy, Business and First. Qatar Airways Class of Travel

The airline offers three types of travel classes on all its flights. The services offered vary depending on the type of travel class. The different travel classes offered are: 

Economy Class

This class offers comfortable and wide seats with adjustable headrests.

• Passengers can pre-order delicious meals with regional flovours.

• The in-flight entertainment system ‘Oryx One’ offers movies, TV shows, music, games and more. Kids are offered interactive activity packs.

Business Class

First Class

This class offers ultra-comfortable seats that turn into fully flat beds.

Qatar Airways Baggage Allowance

The airline follows the piece system and the weight system depending on the destination. 

• The Economy Class passengers can carry either 20, 25, 30 or 35 kg of checked-in baggage depending on the fare (Lite, Classic, Convenience and Comfort) type. A handbag of 7 kg is allowed. 

• Business Class passengers can carry 40 kg of checked-in baggage for all fare types and two pieces of handbag weighing 15 kg each. 

• The First Class passengers can carry 50 kg of checked-in baggage and two pieces of handbag weighing 15 kg each.

The passengers can check in online using the airline’s website or the mobile app. The rules for online check-in are as follows:

Check-in  Qatar Airways Domestic Flights

Passengers can check in 48 hours to 90 minutes before the scheduled flight departure. To check in online passengers can go to the airline’s website and enter the required details. Passengers can select seats during the process and print the boarding pass. The boarding pass can be sent to the mobile phone too.

Check-in Qatar Airways International Flights

Passengers can check in online 48 hours to 90 minutes before the flight departure. Passengers can use the airline’s website or the mobile app and enter the details required. The boarding pass can either be printed or sent to the mobile phone. At the airport, checked-in baggage can be dropped at the Bag Drop counter.

Qatar Airways In-flight Services

The in-flight entertainment system offers non-stop movies, music, TV shows, documentaries, games and more. Passengers can pre-book delicious meals which are served with complimentary beverages. 

Special dietary meals are also available and have to be pre-booked 24 hours before the flight departure. Passengers can purchase onboard WiFi packages to stay connected on the flight through laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

Qatar Airways Frequent Flyer Programme: Privilege Club

The airline offers a Frequent Flyer program called ‘Privilege Club’. Passengers can earn Avios on the Qatar Airways flights and the Oneworld partner airline’s flights. Avios can also be earned through partner hotels, car rentals, stores and more. 

Avios can be redeemed to book flight tickets, get an upgrade, shop,  booking hotels and car rentals and more. The airline offers four TIer statuses and higher the status more the rewards. The different Tier statuses offered are Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

The airline assists passengers with special needs like unaccompanied minors, expectant mothers and passengers with medical conditions. Passengers with mobility problems are offered wheelchair assistance during check-in and up to the cabin. About Qatar Airways Refund & Cancellation

Bookings can be cancelled online by under the ‘Manage Booking’ tab. All cancellations carry a cancellation fee. The refund is also given online if applicable. Passengers have to fill out the Refund Request form.
